When you register for the class, you will receive a link to download the BackTrack ISO. And yes, it could be said that it is an older version of Kali.

With that said, the class material as well as the exam are focused using the tools provided within BackTrack. I briefly used Kali during my studies and noticed some subtle differences with commands.
