I would advise you to go to a few meetings at a Def Con chapter, OWASP chapter, InfoSec security group, and/or Security Con near you and express your interest. I tried to network and gather as much information as I could when I was making the move into Cyber.

If you are looking at pentesting, eJPT might be a good start. However, if you are a little hesitant, take a look at some of the easier VulnHub challenges or some of the picoCTF challenges. Those should provide you the ability to review and learn at your own pace.
